Flying high across the US today. Bright blue skies, with fluffy tufts of clouds spotting the view. We have a fantastic view to the land below. Anyone know where we are now?

In flight
I'm sitting on the plane, flying home from our 3 week trip to Washington. I'm taking advantage of a slightly distracted 2 year old and the in flight wi-fi. Isn't technology grand.
It's been a busy 3 weeks. There is so much that I want to update on, and it will come. It might take me a little while to find the time, and all the right words, but it will come.
We've been very busy, first with Ella's funeral and burial and then my first half marathon, then recooperating, playing, visiting family and friends, eating way too much good food, taking lots of pictures and so, so much more.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our time visiting home, and we are anxious to get back to our home in SC. Departing was definitely bitter sweet.

WEST COLUMBIA - Gabriella 'Ella' Jewel Shumate, born on April 26, 2007, to Dacia & Devin Shumate was taken tragically in a traffic accident on Monday, May 16, 2011. Ella was an exuberant, precocious four-year old who instantly stole hearts with crystal blue-green eyes and her vivacious princess spirit. She expected all to pay attention to her and attended to all, making everyone her friend. She is deeply missed by her parents, three brothers, Tanner, Anson and Joseph, Grammas and Grampas, as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins. Although her parting is sad, we are blessed to have spent four joyous years with our beautiful Ella, and the knowledge that families are forever gives peace and assurance of our sweet reunion.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
Services will be on Saturday, May 21st at 11a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1330 Whippoorwill Dr, West Columbia.

**For those who were not able to be here in SC when we had the funeral for Ella, we will be having a Washington funeral June 24th at the West Chapel. We will be burying Ella in Washington.

New do
SC is getting hot. On average, its in the 80's every day now. Last week Tanner got his hair cut. A few days later, Anson. Today.... Joseph. Longer, sweaty boy hair, just isn't that appealing to me, so it was time to lighten things up. I went a little shorter than intended on JP. Luckily his hair grows fast.
Three cheers for summer hair cuts!

Baby Tortuga
Yesterday, while the kids were swimming in the pool, Ella found this baby turtle. He was swimming in the pool! They immediately wanted to adopt it, put it in a container, and try to recreate his natural habitat. I told them they could at least keep him until Dad got home from work. It's so cute!
